“2 Days in the Valley” is a crime drama/dark comedy which tells separate stories of people of law enforcement, the criminal element, and average citizens whose lives are woven together by a string of related events. Director-screenwriter John Herzfeld (“Two of a Kind” 1983) put together this movie which seems chaotic but is really an engrossing group of storylines that he melds together.
He assembled a talent group of actors to star in the film. They include Danny Aiello, Jeff Daniels, Teri Hatcher, Glenne Headley, Peter Horton, Marsha Mason, Paul Mazursky, James Spader, Eric Stoltz, Charlize Theron, Greg Cruttwell, Keith Carradine, Louise Fletcher, Austin Pendleton, Kathleen Luong, Michael Jai White, Cress Williams, Lawrence Tierney, Micole Murcurio, and Ada Maris.
The watchable “2 Days in the Valley” was a modestly success in theatrical release for Rysher Entertainment and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It was filmed on location in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley. Teri Hatcher earned a Golden Raspberry Award (The Razzie) for Worst Supporting Actress for her performance.
