My Review

“F1” is a sports drama film about a race car driver who returns to Formula 1 racing to help out his former teammate’s underdog team. Director Joseph Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick” 2022) and screenwriter Ehren Kruger put together a top-rate movie with outstanding production values, excellent writing, and good performances. The director maintained a good balance between racing scenes and personal drama and even above-average character development for a sports picture.

Brad Pitt heads the cast as race car driver Sonny Hayes, one of the best performances of his career. Co-stars include Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Javier Bardem, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, Will Merrick, Joseph Balderrama, Liz Kingsman, Shea Whigham, and Kyle Rankin. The watchable “F1” was the ninth highest grossing film of 2025 for producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Apple Studios, Plan B Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Pictures. This was the first hit for Apple Studios in theatrical release.
