The Santa Clause (1994)

My Review

Tim Allen is told on a visit to the North Pole that he must take Santa’s place, and become the next Santa Clause, as jolly St. Nick dies falling of off his roof, must to his disbelief in “The Santa Clause.” Director John Pasquin created a light, bright, and entertaining Holiday comedy film with good production values, believable performances, and a high-quality script by Leo Benvenuti and Steve Rudnick.

The cast includes Tim Allen, Eric Lloyd, Wendy Crewson, Judge Reinhold, David Krumholtz, Peter Boyle, Larry Brandenburg, Mary Gross, and Lachlan Murdoch, best known as Constable Henry Higgins on the television police procedural “Murdoch Mysteries” (2008-present). The watchable “The Santa Clause” was a huge hit at the box office for Walt Disney Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, Outlaw Productions, and Buena Vista Pictures Distribution. Popular sequels include “The Santa Clause 2” (2002) and “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause” (2006).
