Iron Mask (2019)

My Review

“Iron Mask” is a fantasy adventure film about a British cartographer on a mission to map the Russian Far East and China, with numerous adventures, or misadventures, along the way. Russian director Oleg Stepchenko created a terrible movie with a confusing storyline, bad acting, and just plain awful production values. He also had a hand in the atrocious screenplay he co-wrote with two others.

The cast contains some famous stars who turn in very amateurish performances, creating some unintended comedy. This includes Jason Flemyng, Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Charles Dance, Rutger Hauer, and a host of Russian and Chinese actors. The very unwatchable “Iron Mask” was a flop at the international box office for Russian Film Group, China Film Group, and Universal Pictures. Arnold was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actor. It was filmed in Russia and China.
