Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist (2023)

My Review

Another “Left Behind” movie has been released – “Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist.” Director Kevin Sorbo, who also stars in the picture, instilled the project with outstanding production values, good acting, and an exciting storyline about the “Rapture,” when millions of people around the world vanish, the globe falls into chaos, and a charismatic leader rises to lead the United Nations and, apparently, the entire Earth.

The cast includes Kevin Sorbo, Neal McDonough, Corbin Bernsen, Greg Parrow, Sarah Fisher, Charles Andrew Payne, Kathryn Kohut, Sam Sorbo, Braeden Sorbo, and Bailey Chase as Nicolae Carpathia, the anitchrist. The screenplay was written by Paul LaLonde, John Patus, and Jessica Parker. It is based on the 1995 novel “Left Behind” by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

The watchable “Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist,” a rapturous movie experience, was only modestly successful at the box office for producers Kevin Sorbo and Paul LaLonde, Stonagal Pictures, Amcromi Entertainment, and 101 Films International. It was filmed in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Sorbo first gained fame as Hercules in the television program “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” (1995-1999).
