The Escape of Prisoner 614 (2018)

My Review

“The Escape of Prisoner 614” is a western comedy which tells the story of two deputy sheriffs who lose their jobs because of poor arrest records. However, they pursue an escaped convict to try and win their badges back. The sheriff is less than thrilled and the comedy proceeds from there, well assembled by director-screenwriter Zach Golden. It was filmed in the Hudson Valley region of New York state with excellent cinematography by Adam Lee.

The stars of the show are Ron Perlman as the sheriff, Martin Starr and Jake McDorman as the two deputies, George Sample III as the prisoner, with Sondra James, John Hickman, and Michael Sirow rounding out the cast. The watchable and entertaining “The Escape of Prisoner 614” had limited theatrical release before appearing on DVD and streaming platforms. It was a production of Wing and A Prayer Pictures, Saban Films, SSS Entertainment, Yale Productions, and Film Mode Entertainment.
