Maria Bello and Michael Sheen turn in stunning performances as a married couple in crisis when they learn that their son has gone on a deadly shooting spree on his college campus before killing himself. Director Shawn Ku (“The American Mall” 2008) did an excellent job at the helm of this engrossing drama. He co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Armbruster.
The supporting cast includes Alan Tudyk Moon Bloodgood, Kyle Gallner, Bruce French, Austin Nichols, and Meat Loaf as the motel manager. This watchable heavy drama “Beautiful Boy” was not a success in theatrical release for Anchor Bay Entertainment. It was filmed in and around the Los Angeles area.
