The Chronicles of Riddick (2004)

My Review

Outstanding special effects, numerous action sequences, and Vin Diesel as Richard B. Riddick are the stars of “The Chronicles of Riddick.” Director-screenwriter David Twohy (“The Arrival” 1996) superbly orchestrated this science fiction thriller movie to be the best of the three films (“Pitch Black” 2000 and “Riddick” 2013).

The cast includes Vin Diesel, Thandiwe Newton, Karl Urban, Colm Feore, Keith David, Alexa Davalos, Nick Chinlund, Peter Williams, Christina Cox, Kim Hawthorne, Linus Roache, Yorick van Wagoningen, and Judi Dench as Aereon. The very watchable “The Chronicles of Riddick” was a modest hit at the box office for producer Vin Diesel, Radar Pictures, One Race Films, and Universal Pictures. It was filmed in Vancouver, Canada. Diesel was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Awards for Worst Actor, but lost to President George W. Bush in “Fahrenheit 9/11.”
