Irresistible (2020)

My Review

“Irresistible” is a political comedy about a Democratic strategist who attempts to help a leftist candidate win a local election in a conservative small town. Director-screenwriter Jon Stewart put forth a valiant effort to put together an entertaining political satire but fell flat on his face due to terrible writing and sloppy directing. The film has an air of unreality about it and, as a result, contains little entertainment value.

The cast includes Steve Carell, Chris Cooper, Topher Grace, Mackenzie Davis, Debra Messing, Rose Byrne, Natasha Lyonne, Will Sasso, Bill Irwin, with Candy Crowley, Joe Scarborough, and Mika Brzezinski as themselves. The unwatchable “Irresistible” was a failure at the box office for Busboy Productions, Plan B Entertainment, and Universal Pictures. It was filmed in and around Atlanta, Georgia.
