Jungle Cruise (2021)

My Review

Walt Disney Studios has released a film called “Jungle Cruise,” yet another movie adapted from their theme park attractions. While not Shakespeare, this project does provide solid family entertainment and a high quality motion picture. Good job by director Jaume Collet-Serra and screenwriters Michael Green, Glenn Ficarra, and John Requa.

Dwayne Johnson plays a riverboat captain who takes a scientist and her brother through a jungle searching for the Tree of Life. Johnson and co-star Emily Blunt have great chemistry, along with Jack Whitehall, Edgar Ramirez, Jesse Piemons, and Paul Giamatti.

The watchable “Jungle Cruise” broke even at the box office, which means the producers lost money when the advertising budget is taken into consideration. Bad news for producer Dwayne Johnson, Walt Disney Pictures, Davis Entertainment, Seven Bucks Production, Flynn Picture Company, and The Walt Disney Company. It was filmed in Kauai, Hawaii, and Atlanta, Georgia.
