My Review

“The Sea Wolves” is a drama set in World War II and follows the true story of retired British veterans living in India who are asked by their superiors to covertly destroy Nazi German radio ships in the neutral Portuguese enclave of Goa. Director Andrew V. McLaglen (“Cahill U. S. Marshall” 1973) created an engrossing military saga with steady production values, tight performances, and good writing by Reginald Rose. The screenplay was adapted from the 1978 novel “Boarding Party” by James Leasor.

The stars of the show are Gregory Peck, Roger Moore, David Niven, Trevor Howard, Barbara Kellerman, Patrick Macnee, Allan Cuthbertson, and Jack Watson. The watchable “The Sea Wolves” was a modest box office success for Lorimar Productions, Richmond Light Horse Productions, and Paramount Pictures. It was filmed on location in Goa, India.
