My Review

“My Name Is Nobody” is a spaghetti western comedy about a young gunfighter named Nobody who insists that senior gunfighter Jack Beauregard face a gang of 150 outlaws before he can retire. The crazy and zany plot proceeds from there, under the supervision of director Tonino Valerii from a screenplay written by Ernesto Gastaldi. As was usual with Spaghetti Westerns, it was filmed in Italian with English dubbed in later. The innovative musical score was composed by Ennio Morricone.

The cast includes Terence Hill as Nobody, Henry Fonda as Beauregard, Steve Kanaly as the false barber, Geoffrey Lewis as the Wild Bunch leader, Jean Martin as the corrupt mine owner, R. G. Armstrong as a hapless gunslinger, Mario Brega as Pedro, Carla Mancini as Mother, and Piero Lulli as the sheriff. The watchable “My Name is Nobody” was popular with audiences in Europe and a box office flop in America for Rafran Cinematografica, Les Filmes Jacques Leitienne, Rialto Film Preben Philipsen, and Titanus. It was filmed in New Mexico, Louisiana, and Spain.
