My Review

“Nuremberg” is a historical film about the Nuremberg trials, military tribunals conducted by the victorious Allied powers after World War II. They prosecuted prominent Nazi German leaders for orchestrating the war, committing war crimes, and executing the Holocaust. This movie tells the story of a U. S. Army psychiatrist who gets locked into a dramatic showdown with accused Nazi war criminal Hermann Goring. Director-screenwriter James Vanderbilt crafted an engrossing psychological historic drama with excellent production values, memorable performances, and marvelous writing. It was adapted from the 2013 book “The Nazi and the Psychiatrist” by Jack El-Hai.

The cast is headed by Russell Crowe as Hermann Goring and Rami Malek as Lt. Col. Douglas Kelley. They deliver riveting performances, probably among the best of both men’s careers. Co-stars include Colin Hanks, Leo Woodall, John Slattery, Mark O’Brien, Michael Shannon, Lydia Peckham, and Richard E. Grant. The enthralling “Nuremberg” was popular in theatrical release for Walden Media, Titan Media, Bluestone Entertainment, Mythology Entertainment, and Sony Pictures Classics. It was filmed in Budapest, Hungary.
