John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)

My Review

Producer-director Chad Stahelski has come out with a spectacular third sequel to “John Wick” (2014) called “John Wick: Chapter 4.” He has retained the taut story lines, tense drama, and amazingly choreographed shooting scenes that characterized the first three “John Wick” movies of 2014, 2017, and 2019. Shay Hatten and Michael Finch penned a great screenplay for a film with a fast moving 169 minutes running time.

Keanu Reeves returns in the title role, as charismatic as ever, something of a modern-day Clint Eastwood. The supporting cast includes Ian McShane, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, and Bridget Moynahan. Tyler Bates and Joel J. Richards deserve honorable mention for the outstanding music score (as they did on the first three “Wicks” and Dan Laustsen did an amazing job on the cinematography.

The very watchable “John Wick: Chapter 4” was a huge box office sensation and brought in the big bucks for Summit Entertainment, Thunder Road Films, 87Eleven Entertainment, and Lionsgate Films. It was filmed in France, Germany, Japan, and New York City.
