My Review

Halle Berry embarks on a relentless pursuit to rescue her six-year-old son after he is kidnapped from a park in “Kidnap.” Spanish filmmaker Luis Prieto tightly directed this exciting drama from an equally taut screenplay by Knate Lee. The movie is so intense that it mercifully only has an 81 minute running time. In reality, the film is one big car chase.

The cast includes Halle Berry as the distraught young mother who is a waitress, Sage Correa as her son, Lew Temple and Chris McGinn as the kidnappers, Jason Winston George as the boy’s father, Christopher Berry plays a friend of the kidnappers, Taryn Terrell is a girl hit by the kidnappers’ Volvo, and Brice Fisher portrays a customer who complains about his hashbrowns. The watchable “Kidnap” was a modest hit at the box office for producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Halle Berry, di B Pictures, 606 Films, Ingenious Media, Well Go USA Entertainment, and Aviron Pictures. It was filmed in New Orleans and Slidell, Louisiana.
