Beauty and the Beast (2017)

My Review

Walt Disney Pictures has another one billion dollar movie on its hands with “Beauty and the Beast.” This is a live-action film about the familiar story of Belle and the Beast, a remake of the 1991 animated feature, which was based on the 1740 French fairy tale. Director Bill Condon (“Dreamgirls” 2006) assembled a watchable musical with good production values and top-rate music by Alan Menken. The screenplay was penned by Stephen Chbosky and Evan Spillotopoulos.

The cast includes Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Ewan McGregor, Emma Thompson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McKellen, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald, and Josh Gad. The watchable “Beauty and the Beast” was the second highest grossing film of 2017 for Walt Disney Pictures, Mandeville Films, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, and The Walt Disney Company. It was filmed in England.
