Wind River (2017)

My Review

Elizabeth Olsen and Jeremy Renner play an FBI agent and a U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service tracker, respectively, who try to solve a murder on an Indian Reservation in “Wind River.” Director-screenwriter Taylor Sheridan entertains the audience in this movie with good character development and an engrossing murder mystery storyline. One flaw of the film is that it contains a bit too much violence.

Co-stars include Graham Greene, Kelsey Asbille, Gil Birmingham, Martin Sensmeier, Teo Briones, Tantoo Cardinal, and Jon Bernthal. The watchable “Wind River” was successful in theatrical release for Ingenious Media, Thunder Road Pictures, Voltage Pictures, and The Weinstein Company. This is the third in what Taylor Sheridan calls his trilogy of “The Modern Day American Frontier” – “Sicario” (2015) and “Hell or High Water” (2016). It was filmed in Utah.

This movie is also a reunion of Olsen and Renner who both previously appeared in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015), where Olsen played the Scarlett Witch and Renner was Hawkeye.
