Justice League (2017)

My Review

Numerous superheroes band together to save the world from a diabolical villain named Steppenwolf in “Justice League.” Although the screenplay by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon is not the best ever written, it does provide enough action and adventure to hold the audience’s collective attention for the 120 minute running time. Proficient direction by Zach Snyder helped; he was also at the helm of 2016’s “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” of which “Justice League” is a sequel. It is also the fifth installment of the DC Extended Universe.

The cast is headed by Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, who take full possession of the roles of Batman and Superman, respectively, after shaky starts in the 2016 picture. Co-stars include Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as the Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, J. K. Simmons as police Commissioner Gordon, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Amber Herd as Mera, Joe Morton as Silas Stone, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Billy Crudup as Henry Allen, and Connie Nielson as Queen Hippolyta.

The very watchable and entertaining “Justice League” was a big hit at the box office for DC Films, RatPac-Dune Entertainment, Atlas Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Pictures. It was filmed in England, Iceland, and Greece.
