Logan (2017)

My Review

“Logan” stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, where he and Professor X must protect a young woman from corporate scientists seeking to exploit her unique gifts. Director James Mangold (“Cop Land” 1997) put together the typical vehicle for Jackman as James “Logan” Howlett, the Wolverine, in his final starring role. Jackman will return as Logan, but in supporting parts. Mangold co-wrote the adequate script with Scott Frank and Michael Green, which relies heavily on violence and gore, giving it a sold R rating.

The cast includes Jackman as Logan, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Dafne Keen as Laura, Boyd Holbrook as Donald, Stephen Merchant as Caliban, and Richard E. Grant as Dr. Rice. “Logan” was a box office hit for Marvel Entertainment, The Donners’ Company, and 20th Century Fox. It was filmed in Louisiana and New Mexico. The film received one Oscar nod for Best Adapted Screenplay.
