Alien: Covenant (2017)

My Review

“Alien: Covenant” follows the crew of a colony ship diverted to an uncharted planet, where they encounter the rogue robot David and deadly alien lifeforms. Director Ridley Scott returns with an excellent and high quality sequel to “Prometheus” (2012). The marvelous scripts were written by Joh Logan and Dante Harper.

Michael Fassbender does outstanding work as the two androids David 8 and Walter. His performance in this “Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hyde” type of role is as good as Spencer Tracy in the 1931 motion picture. Co-stars include Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Guy Pearce, James Franco, Noomi Rapace, Jussie Smollett, Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez.

The watchable “Alien: Covenant” was a very modest success at the box office for Scott Free Productions, Brandywine Productions, and 20th Century Fox. It was filmed in Australia and New Zealand. There were seven “Alien” films released in 1979, 1986, 1992, 1997, 2012, 2017, and 2024. Crossover “Predator” movies released in 2004 and 2007.
