My Review

“King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” tells the familiar story of Arthur discovering his royal heritage, pulling Excalibur from the stone, and fighting his uncle for the throne. However, director Guy Ritchie (“Sherlock Holmes” 2009) turned out a lackluster version of a great English legend here. As he has done with other movies, Ritchie removes most of the excitement in a story and instills his own mediocre version. He accomplishes this with woke directing, employing ordinary production values, and lousy writing. He co-wrote the script with Joby Harold and Lionel Wigram.

The cast includes Charlie Hunnam, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aiden Gillen, Jude Law, Eric Bana, David Beckham, Tom Wu, and Annabelle Wallis. The unwatchable “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” was a massive box office bomb for Ritchie/Wigram Productions, RatPac-Dune Entertainment, Village Roadshow Pictures, and Warner Bros. Pictures. It was filmed in England, Scotland, and Wales.
