xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017)

My Review

“xXx: Return of Xander Cage” is an action film where Vin Diesel plays extreme athlete turn government agent who joins in a search for a dangerous weapon called Pandora’s Box. This third film in the series was directed by D. J. Caruso (“Disturbia” 2007) from an acceptable screenplay by F. Scott Frazier. It is basically a movie which is long on action sequences and short on original plot and storyline. The first two were “xXx” (2002) starring Diesel and “xXx: State of the Union” featuring Ice Cube.

The cast includes Vin Diesel, Donnie Yen, Toni Collette, Samuel L. Jackson, Deepika Padukone, Kris Wu, Ruby Rose, Ice Cube, Tony Jaa, and Nina Dobrev. “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” was popular at the global box office for One Race Films, Revolution Studios, Roth/Kirschenbaum Films, and Paramount Pictures. It was filmed in Ontario, Canada, and Dominican Republic.
