Murder on the Orient Express (2017)

My Review

Director and star Kenneth Branagh (“Thor” 2011) has a fresh and new take on Agatha Christie’s 1934 novel “Murder on the Orient Express.” Modern production values, a lively screenplay by Michael Green, and a “fussy” Hercule Poirot, played by Branagh, make this latest version a very entertaining and watchable motion picture. (Previous film adaptations came out in 1974 and 2001.) It was filmed in England, Italy, and Malta.

The stellar cast includes Kenneth Branagh, Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, William Dafoe, Penelope Cruz, Derek Jacobi, Tom Bateman, Olivia Colman, Josh Gad, and Leslie Odom Jr. The watchable “Murder on the Orient Express” was very successful at the box office for producers Ridley Scott and Kenneth Branagh, The Mark Gordon Company, Scott Free Productions, Kinberg Genre, and 20th Century Fox.
