Leave No Trace (2018)

My Review

“Leave No Trace” is a drama film about a military veteran who lives with his daughter completely off-grid in a vast public park in Oregon. When the authorities discover their encampment, they must try to reintegrate into social life. The difficulties proceed from there, well directed by Debra Granik. She put together an excellent story with good production values, memorable performances, and an excellent screenplay she co-wrote with Anne Rosell.

The cast is headed by Ben Foster and Thomasin McKenzie, who deliver great performances. This is a break-out role for McKenzie, who had a small part in “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” (2014). Co-stars include Jeff Kober and Dale Dickie. The watchable “Leave No Trace” was a modest hit at the box office for Bron Studios, Topic Studios, Bleeker Street, and Sony Pictures Releasing. It was filmed in Portland, Oregon.
