Peppermint (2018)

My Review

Jennifer Garner stars as a woman out for revenge against a drug carter for killing her husband and daughter in “Peppermint.” This film is something of an updated version of the “Death Wish” series that featured Charles Bronson and, later, Bruce Willis.

Although “Peppermint” is not exactly original material, the film does pass as watchable entertainment due to Garner’s captivating performance and charismatic personality and Pierre Morel’s adequate direction and passable production values and an acceptable screenplay by Chad St. John.

The supporting cast includes John Ortiz, John Gallagher Jr., John Pablo Raba, Tyson Ritter, Pell James, and Cliff “Method Man” Smith as Detective Barker. The watchable “Peppermint” was a modest financial success at the box office for Lakeshore Entertainment, Tang Media Productions, and STX Films. Jennifer Garner was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress. “Peppermint” was filmed in Long Beach and Los Angeles.
