Mile 22 (2018)

My Review

“Mile 22” is a spy action thriller movie about a special CIA task force assigned to escort a high profile agent twenty-two miles to a safe house. Director Peter Berg (“Friday Night Lights” 2004) and screenwriter Lea Carpenter filled the movie with action sequences apparently to disguise the weak storyline and muddled plot. Viewers have an difficult time discerning what is going on.

The stars seem to muddle through as best they can – Mark Wahlberg, John Malkovich, Ronda Rousey, Lauren Cohan, and Iko Uwais, the Indonesian actor and martial arts expert who made a positive impression in this otherwise dismal project. The unwatchable “Mile 22” was a box office bomb for producer Mark Wahlberg, STXfilms, The Hideaway Entertainment, and Tang Media Productions. It was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, and Bogota, Columbia.
