My Review

“Robin Hood” is a action film following the old story of Robin of Loxley returning from the Crusades to find his estate seized, leading him to team up with a Moorish commander to deal with the corrupt local government. Director Otto Bathurst put together an action film which is a revisionist woke version of the tale of Robin Hood. He had a low emphasis on quality production values and storyline, with a mediocre screenplay by Ben Chandler and David James Kelly.

The cast at least seems energetic, including Taron Edgerton as Robin, Jamie Foxx as John, Ben Mendelsohn as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Eve Hewson as Marion, Paul Anderson as Guy, Tim Minchim as Friar Tuck, F. Murray Abraham as the Cardinal, and Jamie Dornan as Wil. The unwatchable “Robin Hood” was a box office bomb for producer Leonardo DiCaprio, Summit Entertainment, Appian Way Productions, Thunder Road Films, and Lionsgate Films.

“Robin Hood” was nominated for three Golden Raspberry Awards – Worst Picture, Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel, and Worst Supporting Actor (Foxx). It was filmed in Croatia, Hungary, and France.
