My Review

“Paul, Apostle of Christ” is a Biblical drama set in Rome about 67 A. D. following Luke the Evangelist as he risks his life to visit his old friend Paul, who is imprisoned under the Emperor’s edict. He records Paul’s final days, past memories, and wisdom for the early church. Director-screenwriter Andrew Hyatt has created an engrossing look at the early church life with good production values, excellent performances, and lucid writing.

The cast includes Jim Caviezel as Luke, James Faulkner as Paul, Olivier Martinez as the prison administrator, Antonia Campbell-Hughes as his wife, Joanne Whalley as Priscilla, John Lynch as Aquila, Noah Huntley as Publius, and Alessandro Sperduti as Cassius. The watchable “Paul, Apostle of Christ” was a modest success at the box office for Affirm Films, Mandalay Pictures, and Sony Pictures Releasing. It was filmed in Malta.
