Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)

My Review

“Jumanji: The Next Level” follows Spencer of the first film as he longs to get back into the avatar he previously enjoyed. So, he falls into the broken video game, and his friends follow him in to rescue him. The action and adventure and humor proceed from there, fairly well managed by director Jake Kasdan (“Bad Teacher” 2011), who co-wrote the screenplay with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg.

The cast includes Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Danny Glover, Danny DeVito, Colin Hanks, and Bibi Neuwirth. “Jumanji: The Next Level” was the tenth highest grossing film of 2019 for producer Dwayne Johnson, Columbia Pictures, Seven Bucks Productions, Radar Pictures, and Sony Pictures Releasing. It was filmed in Hawaii, California, Georgia, New Mexico, and Alberta, Canada. The first film was “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” (2017), with a second sequel “Jumanji: Open World” scheduled for release in December, 2026.
