The Aftermath (2019)

“The Aftermath” tells the story of a British colonel and his wife in post-World War II Berlin, where hs is in charge of reconstruction. There are unexpected tensions between the English couple and the German family where they are staying. Director James Kent does an excellent job with this drama film depicting the relationship between Britain and Germany after WWII. It contains good production values, marvelous performances, and good writing. The screenplay was written by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, adapted from the 2013 novel of the same name by Rhidian Brook.

The cast includes Keira Knightly, Alexander Skarsgard, Jason Clarke, Martin Compston, Kate Phillips, Pip Torrens, and Alexander Scheer. The watchable “The Aftermath” was a modest success in theaters for producer Ridley Scott, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Amusement Park Films, Scott Free Productions, and BBC Films. It was filmed in Prague, Czech Republic.
