Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

My Review

“Godzilla: King of the Monsters” is a monster action film where eco-terrorists release Ghidorah, a giant dragon-like monster, who in turn releases other Titans, forcing Godzilla to battle them to save humanity from destruction. This film from director Michael Dougherty (“Krampus” 2015) is long on special effects and short on plot and storyline, which is what everyone expects from this film genre. He co-wrote the screenplay with Zach Shields.

The cast includes Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr. (son of Ice Cube), David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Anthony Ramos, Seth Green, and CCH Pounder as Senator Williams. “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” was a huge hit at the box office for Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures. It was filmed in Atlanta and Mexico City. The film was nominated for one Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel.
