Shazam! (2019)

My Review

Zachary Levi delivers an entertaining performance as a teenage boy who is suddenly transformed into superhero named “Shazam!” Levi brings his light and breezy and non-pretentious personality to this role. He played a similar type as Chuck Bartowski on NBC’s “Chuck” (2007-2012).

Director David F. Sandberg (“Lights Out” 2016) also did his part in keeping the movie fun and amusing, as well as supervising the cast which includes Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Djimon Hounsou, Grace Fulton, and Asher Angel as the younger version of Levi’s character.

The screenplay by Henry Gayden was derived from characters in DC Comics, helping to make “Shazam!” a big hit at the box office for DC Films, New Line Cinema, The Safran Company, Seven Bucks Productions, and Warner Bros. Pictures. It was filmed in Toronto, Canada.
