My Review

The popular “Left Behind” movie franchise continues with “Vanished: Left Behind – Next Generation.” The story tells of the disappearance of one billion people around the world in the Rapture of the Church, with 15-year-old Gabby Harlow dealing with the chaos in society and in her personal life, as her mother is one that has been raptured.

The cast includes Amber Frank as Gabby, Keely Wilson as her younger sister, Mason Dye, Dylan Sprayberry, Tom Everett Scott, Jackson Hurst, and Randy LaHaye (grandson of Tim LaHaye) as Nicholae Carpathia, the anti-christ. The film is loosely based on “Left Behind – The Kids” by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins.

Director Larry A. McLean put good production values into the film, with a well written screenplay by Kim Bayer-Johnson and Joan Considine Johnson. “Vanished: Left Behind – Next Generation” debuted in theaters at a Fathom Event, with minimal box office receipts. This was a project of producer Randy LaHaye, Faith Capitol Group, Salt Entertainment Group, and Triple Horse Studios.
