The Boss (2016)

My Review

Melissa McCarthy and her husband, director Ben Falcone, have come up with another low-brow comedy called “The Boss.” As in “Tammy” (2014), the Falcones offer viewers formulaic and predictable comedy mixed with dirty language and foul behavior. The story here has McCarthy playing a wealthy woman who, after being arrested and losing her financial empire, uses her employee’s daughter’s Dandelion Girl’s cookie sales to return to the top.

The cast includes Melissa McCarthy, Kathy Bates, Kristen Bell, Peter Dinklage, Margo Martindale, Gayle King, and Ella Anderson. “The Boss” performed poorly at the box office for On The Day Productions and Universal Pictures. It was filmed in Atlanta and Chicago.
