Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024)

My Review

“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” has the Spengler family, from the previous film, and the veteran Ghostbusters returning to New York City to collaborate to save the world from an ancient villain threatening to freeze the entire world. Director Gil Kenan put together a mediocre product which is the fifth in the “Ghostbuster” franchise. The film has unfocused direction and a sloppily written screenplay with an excessively large cast. Kenan penned the script with Jason Reitman.

The cast includes Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Patton Oswalt, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and William Atherton. “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” barely made a profit in theatrical release for producer Ian Reitman, Columbia Pictures, Ghost Corps, Right of Way Films, and Sony Pictures Releasing. It was filmed in New York City. A sixth “Ghostbuster” film is reportedly in early development at Columbia Pictures.
