My Review

“The Whole Truth” is a riveting crime drama about a 17-year-old male on trial for murdering his father. Director Courtney Hunt (“Frozen River” 2008) and screenwriter Nicholas Kazan (son of movie director Elia Kazan) put together this motion picture that has more twists and turns than a pretzel, holding the audience’s attention for the entire 93 minute running time.

The actors outdid themselves – Keanu Reeves as the defense attorney, Gabriel Basso as the accused, Rene Zellweger as his mother, Jim Belushi as his father (in flashbacks), Gugu Mbatha-Raw as co-defense attorney, Jim Klock as the prosecutor, Christopher Berry as jury consultant, Dana Gourrier as courthouse reporter, and Sean Bridgers as an associate of the murder victim. “The Whole Truth” was released on Video on Demand from FilmNation Entertainment, PalmStar Entertainment, Likely Story, Lionsgate Premiere. It was filmed in Louisiana.
