My Review

“13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” is a war drama film chronicling the events leading up to the terrorist attack on the U. S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012. Director Michael Bay (“Pearl Harbor” 2001) did a decent job with well organized battle scenes and generally good production values, although some critics commented that certain details were inaccurate. The lucid screenplay by Chuck Hogan was adapted from the 2014 book “13 Hours” by Mitchell Zuckoff.

The cast includes James Badge Dale, John Krasinski, Max Martini, Dominic Fumusa, Pablo Schreiber, Toby Stephens, and Matt Letscher as the American Ambassador to Libya. “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” barely made money at the box office for Bay Films, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Paramount Pictures. It was filmed in Malta and Morocco, and received one Oscar nod for Best Sound Mixing.
