The Founder (2016)

My Review

“The Founder” is the fascinating true story of how struggling salesman Ray Kroc took over the McDonald’s fast food chain from its original founders, the McDonald’s brothers. Director John Lee Hancock (“Saving Mr. Banks” 2013) did an excellent job at giving this motion picture some good production values and marvelous writing and fun performances. Robert Siegel penned the screenplay to this fast-moving film with a 115 minute running time.

The excellent cast includes Michael Keaton as Ray Kroc, Nick Offerman as Richard McDonald, John Carroll Lynch as Maurice McDonald, Linda Cardellini as Joan Kroc, Laura Dern as Ethel Kroc, Patrick Wilson as an early franchise owner, and B. J. Novak as an executive. The watchable “The Founder” was a box office flop for producer Jeremy Renner, FilmNation Entertainment, and The Weinstein Company. It was filmed in Georgia.
