Patriot’s Day (2016)

My Review

“Patriot’s Day” is an action-drama film recounting the events leading up to and including the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Organized and focused directing by Peter Berg (“Deepwater Horizon” 2016) make the film easy to follow. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Matt Cook and Joshua Zetumer.

The cast includes Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, J. K. Simmons, Kevin Bacon, Michelle Monaghan, Jimmy O. Yang, Khandi Alexander,Vincent Curatola as the Mayor of Boston, and baseball player David Ortiz as himself. “Patriot’s Day” was a flop at the box office for producer Mark Wahlberg, CBS Films, Bluegrass Films, and Lionsgate Films. It was mostly filmed in Boston.
