Sully (2016)

My Review

“Sully” is an aviation drama about the 2009 “miracle on the Hudson” where Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger glided a disabled airliner onto New York’s Hudson River, saving everyone of the 155 people on board. The film also covers the grueling NTSB investigation. Director Clint Eastwood (“High Plaines Drifter” 1973) was focused in his direction with outstanding production values, good acting, and wonderful writing. Tom Komarnicki penned the screenplay, based on Sullenberger’s 2009 memoir “Highest Duty.”

Tom Hanks is a perfect fit for the lead role of Sully with his everyman persona. Co-stars include Aaron Eckhart, Laura Linney, Ann Cusack, Anna Gunn, Katie Couric, and David Letterman. “Sully” was a big hit at the box office for Malpaso Productions, The Kennedy/Marshall Company, Village Roadshow Pictures, Ratpac-Dune Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Pictures. It was filmed in New York City, Atlanta, and at Warner Bros. Studios and Universal Studios in Hollywood.
