The Magnificent Seven (2016)

My Review

When a greedy industrialist terrorizes a small town and murders a man, his widow hires a U. S. Marshall and six diverse gunmen to get revenge in “The Magnificent Seven.” Director Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day” 2001) assembled an outstanding western melodrama which is based on the classic 1960 western film of the same name and the 1954 Japanese movie “Seven Samurai.”

The outstanding cast includes Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Byung-hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Ruffo, Martin Sensmeier as the Seven. Co-stars include Peter Sarsgaard, Luke Grimes, Haley Bennett, and Sean Bridgers. “The Magnificent Seven” was popular at the box office for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Columbia Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures, Fuqua Films, and Sony Pictures Releasing. It was filmed in Louisiana, New Mexico, and Arizona.
