Ben Affleck turns in a stellar and layered performance as an autistic certified public accountant with a side job as a hitman in “The Accountant.” Director Gavin O’Connor (“Warrior” 2011) and screenwriter Bill Dubuque keep the action-adventure storyline moving in this unique and off-beat thriller which has a very fast-moving 128 minute running time.
The supporting cast includes an assemblage of film favorites like Jean Smart, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Tambor, Anna Kendrick, J. K. Simmons, and John Bernthal. “The Accountant” was a big hit at the box office for Electric City Entertainment, Zero Gravity Management, and Warner Bros. Pictures. Ben Affleck starred in asequel called “The Accountant 2” in 2025.
