The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2015)

My Review

It you liked “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” back in 2013, then you will probably enjoy the sequel “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.” The story returns to the hotel for old English people, which welcomes some American residents. It also comes with some expansion plans. While there is really nothing terrible new here, director John Madden (“Shakespeare in Love” 1998) and screenwriter Oliver Parker have retained the low-key English charm of the original.

The cast includes Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel, Penelope Wilson, Richard Gere, David Strathairn, and Tom Wilkinson. “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” was a hit at the box office for Participant Media, Image Nation Abu Dhabi, Blueprint Pictures, and Fox Searchlight Pictures. It was filmed in India and England.
