45 Years (2015)

My Review

Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtney star as a couple whose wedding anniversary is disrupted by news that the perfectly preserved body of his old girl friend from “45 Years” ago is discovered in a melting glacier in Switzerland. Fun, games, and disruption proceed from there, well directed and written by Andrew Haigh (“Weekend” 2011). He created quite a though-provoking movie with excellent production values.

Co-stars include Geraldine James, Dolly Wells, David Sibley, Richard Cunningham, Sam Alexander, and Hannah Chalmers as the travel agent. “45 Years” was a modest success in art house cinema all over the Western world for Film4, British Film Institute, and Artificial Eye. It was filmed in Norfolk, England, and received one Oscar nod for Best Actress (Rampling).
