Daddy’s Home (2015)

My Review

“Daddy’s Home” is a comedy movie about a man trying to be a good step-father to his wife’s children, but this is disrupted by the return of the kids’ biological father. The laughs proceed from there, adequately directed by Sean Anders (“That’s My Boy” 2012), who co-wrote the script with Brian Burns and John Morris. The comedy is acceptable escapist entertainment.

The cast includes Will Ferrell as the step-father, Mark Wahlberg as the father, Linda Cardellini as the wife, Scarlett Estevez and Owen Vaccaro as the children, with Thomas Hayden Church, Bobby Cannavale, LaMonica Garrett, John Cena, and Kobe Bryant. “Daddy’s Home” was a hit at the box office for Red Granite Pictures, Gary Sanchez Productions, and Paramount Pictures. It was filmed in New Orleans. A sequel coming up is “Daddy’s Home 2” (2017).
