Montana Story (2021)

My Review

“Montana Story” is a fine film about two siblings who return to their family farm after their father falls into a coma. Haley Lu Richardson and Owen Teague deliver outstanding performances as a sister and brother who work through past differences and family problems. They have excellent material to work with from producers-directors-screenwriters Scott McGehee and David Seigel (“What Maisie Knew” 2012), who crafted a very watchable gem of a movie here.

Co-stars include Kimberly Guerrero, Gilbert Owuor, Asivak Koostachin, and Eugene Brave Rock. Cinematographer Giles Nuttgens deserves honorable mention for the beautiful photography in the location shots in Park County, Montana. “Montana Story” is an independent movie production that did not get much exposure in theatrical release but is an excellent view on DVD.
