Haunted Mansion (2023)

My Review

“Haunted Mansion” tells the story of a woman who hires a team of people to help exorcise her recently purchased mansion of evil spirits, with mixed results. Predictable comedy ensues, sloppily directed by Justin Simien (“Dear White People” 2014) from a poorly written screenplay by Katie Dippold. It was a reboot of “The Haunted Mansion” (2003) starring Eddie Murphy.

The cast includes LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Dan Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jo Koy, Steve Zissis, Hasan Minhaj, Daniel Levy, Marilou Henner, Winona Ryder, and Jaret Leto. “Haunted Mansion” was a flop at the box office for Walt Disney Pictures, Rideback Production Company, and The Walt Disney Company. It was filmed in New Orleans and Atlanta.
