“Bandit” is a crime drama film about a prison escapee who starts robbing banks to make ends meet. His success frustrates police, but is tenaciously pursued by one detective who is determined to bring him down. This true story is tightly directed by Allan Ungar (“Gridlocked” 2015) from a screenplay written by Kraig Wenman, adapted from the 1996 biography “The Flying Bandit” by Robert Knuckle. There are similarities to “Catch Me If You Can,” Steven Spielberg’s 2002 movie.
The fast moving two hour film has good chemistry between cast members like Josh Duhamel as the charming criminal, Elisha Cuthbert as his girl friend, Nestor Carbonell as the police detetive, Mel Gibson as a big-time gangster, Michael H. Cole as the police captain, and Olivia d’Abo as Linda. “Bandit” from Yale Productions and Goldrush Entertainment was released on streaming networks Paramount+ and Amazon Prime.
