How to Murder a Millionaire (1990)

My Review

The comedic abilities of Joan Rivers are the star of the show in the 1990 made-for-tv movie “How to Marry a Millionaire.” She plays a wealthy woman who becomes convinced that her husband is planning to murder her.

Her performing skills have been underestimated probably due to her fame as a stand-up comedian throughout her career, as she does a professional job in this film with both comedic and dramatic material. Director Paul Schneider gives her room to work, and teleplay writers April Kelly and Mark Edward Edens give her fun material to work with.

Co-stars in “How to Murder a Millionaire” include Alex Rocco, Morgan Fairchild, David Ogden Stiers, Telma Hopkins, Meshach Taylor, and Susan Kellerman as the head maid. It was filmed in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, California, and first aired on ABC in January, 1990.
