The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! (1997)

My Review

“The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion!” follows Bo and Luke Duke as they try to save Uncle Jesse’s farm and the Hazzard Swamp from Mama Josephine Maxx, a shady developer who plans to turn it all into a theme park. Producer-writer Gy Waldron (who created the series) and director Lewis Teague retain the basic characteristics of the original, which ran on CBS from 1979 to 1985.

Most of the original cast returned including Tom Wopat (Bo), John Schneider (Luke), Catherine Bach (Daisy), Denver Pyle (Jesse), Ben Jones (Cooter), Sonny Shroyer (Enos), Rick Hurst (Cletus), and James Best as Sherriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. Others include Stella Stevens as Mama Maxx, Gary Hudson as her goon, Cynthia Rothrock as martial artist Bertha Jo, and Don Williams as The Balladeer. One original cast members who did not appear was Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg), who passed in 1994. Denver Pyle (Uncle Jesse) died in December, 1997.

The watchable CBS project “The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion!” first aired April 25, 1997, from Kudzu Productions and Warner Bros. Television. It was filmed in various locations around the Los Angeles area.
